Throwing a Football Party for Kids

After enough birthday parties and baseball games, you may feel a little burnt out on throwing social functions for your kids and their friends. But as the Super Bowl approaches and the race between teams narrows, a football party for kids is a great way to fill a gap in the social calendar. Plus, it will prove to be good practice for hosting your own adult party in February.

Kids are both hard and easy to please. They think they know what they want but they are unhappy with it when they get it. The best way to throw a successful party for children is to surprise them. Maybe send out invitations that make it look like a normal gathering, and reveal the surprise when they arrive. The excitement of a theme party will make them giddy with glee.

Much of what you will need for your football party is the same stuff you would have for a birthday bash. You can bake a cake but instead decorate it like a football field. Cupcakes can have white laces painted on the side with different types of printable decorations adorning the food table. Buying some foam fingers and making jersey-like tee-shirts add a great touch.

And of course there is the main event itself – football. It isn’t hard to make a small field in your backyard using some corn starch or baking flour. Have plenty of footballs ready and get some tag-belts to ensure no one gets hurt. Finally, you can make small goal posts using painted PVC pipe with little effort.
